Entrance Examinations - 2026: we are grateful to our foreign partners

It is the fifth year, that the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment has been conducting entrance examinations, namely the National Multisubject Test (NMT) for admission to bachelor’s programs and the Unified Entrance Exam (UEE) and Unified Professional Entrance Exam (UPEE) for admission to master’s programs, not only in Ukraine but also abroad.

This year, thanks to the operation of temporary examination centers abroad, over 24,000 prospective students who found themselves outside Ukraine due to the war were able to take their entrance exams. They gained the opportunity to enroll in their dream Ukrainian university and, in the future, contribute to the recovery and development of their country.

Enabling Ukrainian youth who found themselves abroad due to the war to exercise their right to enroll in domestic higher education institutions required a massive, collaborative effort. Hundreds of individuals and dozens of institutions joined forces—investing hundreds of hours in negotiations, consultations, meetings, and coordination—to create a genuine opportunity for prospective students to continue their educational journey in Ukraine.

Behind every temporary examination center abroad lies a vast amount of painstaking work. It was necessary to establish partnerships across various countries, coordinate numerous organizational and logistical details, and ensure constant communication and support throughout every stage of preparation and testing.

Equally important was the task of finding, training, and supporting the personnel who directly administered the tests on-site, as well as providing coordination and guidance to the prospective students themselves.

All of this — involving dozens of people and countless communications and decisions — happens behind the scenes; yet, it is precisely thanks to these efforts that young Ukrainians abroad have gained the opportunity to enroll in domestic higher education institutions. And when one sees the results of this work, all the effort invested takes on a special significance.

Thus, 83 temporary examination centers in 54 cities of 32 countries held the assessments abroad. Due to this, it was possible to create more than 19 000 workplaces for participants in the 2026 entrance examination.

These results are the product of the collaborative efforts of many individuals and institutions. Various stakeholders were involved at different stages of preparing for and administering the entrance exams abroad, each helping to find solutions, overcome organizational challenges, and ultimately make the testing possible. Among them are:
